Dodie Lambright Whitcomb had
always gone to help her Grandpa Winford Lewis and her father, Harvey Lambright.
Dodie always wanted to be an auctioneer. She was intrigued by the auctioneering
and fondly remembers when her grandpa would hold her up on his ladder and sell
items at auction.
Dodie graduated from Lakeland High School in 1983 and
has worked at the auction company full time for the last 10 years. In December
2000, Dodie Graduated from Repperts School of Auctioneering and passed her
Indiana State Auctioneers Test in Indianapolis. In 2006, through the National
Auctioneers Association, Dodie received her Certified Estate Specialist
License.
Over 200 Indiana Auctioneer
Association members attended the annual convention held at the Swan Lake Resort
in Plymouth, Indiana, November 5-8, 2009.
The IAA gave out Marketing
contest awards and Dodie D. Whitcomb, Auctioneer & CES, of Lewis &
Lambright, Inc, received the 2009 Marketing Contest Award as an Auctioneer,
licensed less than 5 Years. The winning brochure was for the Hollis Family
Trust Auction, which was held Saturday- June 13, 2009 in Shipshewana,
Indiana. Dodie is a member of the Indiana Auctioneers Association and the
National Auctioneers Association. She is a Certified Estate Specialist,
receiving that designation from the NAA in November 2006; a District 2, Director
with the Indiana Auctioneers Association; involved with benefit auctions, and is
a member of the Scott United Methodist Church. Dodie is an auctioneer with her
father Harvey C. Lambright, Owner, President, of Lewis & Lambright, Inc.,
LaGrange, Indiana.
Annual elections where held for the board of directors. Mike Mensendiek,
Jonesville, was elected President, Sara Minor, Madison, President-Elect, Andrew
W. Wilson, New Harmony, Vice-President and Melissa Christy- Davis, Indianapolis,
Secretary/Treasurer.
The event closed with a Presidential Gala which
celebrated the passing of the gavel from Jim Lestinsky, 2008-2009 President, to
Mike Mensendiek, 2009-2010 President.
The 2010 Indiana Auctioneers
Convention will be held November 4-7th in Columbus,
IN.
